BioI dreamt in purple the day after I passed through the birth canal of a college graduation. Or perhaps I dreamt in aubergine. I love that word, the sound of aubergine on my tongue elicits the deep throaty feeling of the deep purple it describes. The color of eggplant. My color, though, is blue, deep cerulean blue, and I am a water person. I belong to wet places, cool damp, perpetually wet places. I should have been born a whale or a dolphin.
Currently living in the U.S., in my favorite city in the world, Seattle's great armpit. How can I explain my love affair with a town whose best claim to greatness is "Thanks to filters, we don't smell that bad anymore!" ? I work in the theater; I ride a bicycle; I've lived in Ireland and Italy. My husband is a sommelier (which means he's got a nose for wine), and I just finished reading "The Enchantress of Florence" by Salman Rushdie.
